Alexis Denisof

Alexis started off as a fight director for Hamlet’s stage production, which was followed in 1991 by Romeo and Juliet, The Other Side and The Soul’s Dark Night. He also appeared on the video, “Got My Mind Set On You” by George Harrison, which got him lot of fame and name. In the movie First Knight, he made a brief appearance, along with Richard Gere and Sean Connery. Next, he worked on three episodes of Sharpe in 1997.
He is also very well known for his work in the supernatural drama show Angel (1999-2004) for which he was nominated three times for a Saturn Award.
Some other movies in which he has worked are: Murder Story (1989), Snow and Fire (1991), Dakota Road (1992), Innocent Lies (1995), True Blue (1996), The Misadventures of Margaret (1998), Rogue Trader (1999), Beyond the City Limits (2001) and Tarzan & Jane (2002).

As Doyle died, in the first season, Alexis Denisof was brought in the tenth episode, from the parent show, to repeat his character of Wesley Wyndam-Pryce, the brave and courageous, “rogue demon hunter”, who shows good leadership skills.
Denisof appeared on 100 out of the total 110 episodes of Angel. He also suffered from Bell’s palsy just three weeks prior to filming of the fifth season. As the paralysis affected the left part of his face, the scenes were all shot accordingly. This was revealed on the DVD version of the season.
Although, Denisof is of Russian descent, he has worked and lived in Britain for a large part of his life. He also was involved with Caroline Aherne for a brief time period. Upon arriving in California, Denisof lived for a year with Ted Danson and his wife Mary Steenburgen.
He married on 11th October, 2003, his co – star, Alyson Hanningan, who enacted the character of Willow Rosenberg in
Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The couple now resides in Santa Monica and declared about expecting their first child on 22nd October, 2008 and the baby is due in spring this year.
