Birth Name: Andrew Alcott Hallett
Birth Date: 4th August, 1975
Birth Place: Osterville, Massachusetts, U.S.
Hallett has no brothers or sisters and grew up in the Cape Cod Village, which is in Osterville, Massachusetts, a constituent of the Barnstable town. He studied at Barnstable High School and subsequently went up to Assumption College, Worcester. An introvert by nature, he was encouraged by Patti LaBelle to sing, when she called him on stage to sing at a concert.
The 6 feet 2 inches tall star shifted to Los Angeles where he worked in an agency as a runner, then managed property and later as a personal assistant. The creator of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Joss Whedon, heard Hallett in a Universal City Blues revue, and created the character of an anagogic demon, The Host, for his supernatural show Angel, who has the ability to read the persons who sing at his karaoke bar.
Subsequently, Hallett got his first ever break as an actor and even helped out his cast mates to improve upon their karaoke singing skills. It was while working on Angel that Hallett found his agent who, after watching him act and sing in the last episode of the second season, “Judgment”, instantly called up the casting agent to enquire more about him. In no time, he signed up with her.
Hallett enacted the character of Krevlornswath “Lorne”, for about forty episodes on Angel, after which he was upped in the main characters list. A gregarious and irenic demon, The Host’s character is largely to hold up the group.
Andy also worked on a couple of songs for the show’s soundtrack compilation.
