Vincent was born to James Ralph Kartheiser and Janet Marie who have four girls and a boy other then Vincent. The girls are named, Andrea, Colette, Elise and Theresa while Nathan is Vincent’s brother.
In 1993, Kartheiser made his debut with the film Untamed Heart which was followed by films like Alaska and an important role in Masterminds. He also appeared in Larry Clark’s Another Day in Paradise which then got him ‘Strike!’ and Crime and Punishment in Suburbia which was showcases in the 2000 Sundance Film Festival where later in 2004 his other film Dandelion was also screened.
Amongst his significant roles was of Connor, which he played in the supernatural drama series Angel (2002). Another important role that he has played is of a very ambitious junior accounts executive Peter Campbell in the hit, multiple awards winning TV show ‘Mad Men‘.
Peter Campbell belongs to an influential family in Manhattan, which is mired in some financial difficulties, living a pampered life before working at the Sterling Cooper Advertising Agency. At the firm, he is sexually involved with Peggy Olson, despite getting married to Trudy and he has a child with Peggy too, which she “gives away.” However, he learns about this fact much later when he comes back to her, confessing his love. He even attempts to blackmail Don Draper, but none of his schemes work.
On the supernatural drama TV show, Angel, Kartheiser portrays the character of Connor, who is born in November, 2001, in Los Angeles, California to two very great vampires, Angel ( the lead character played by David Boreanaz) and his love interest Darla (enacted by Julie Benz), and thus is seen as a wonder, human child of two deceased persons. He is kidnapped and brought up in a Hell dimension by Daniel Holtz, who happens to be Angel’s enemy. After a little time has passed since he went away, quite painfully in infancy, he returns as a mentally and emotionally dwarfed teenager with ill-feelings for his father. During the fourth season, Angel, tries very hard, and even makes a huge sacrifice so that his son, Connor leads a normal human life and even attempts to re – write his memories and during the last season, they both patch up their differences and get together to work for a common aim.
